Meaning-focused feedback
10 free AI practice sessions / 30 days

A simple loop to turn
listening into speaking.

Practice on real YouTube videos. Say the idea in your own words. Get meaning-focused feedback. Keep talking with grounded follow-up questions.

01

Listen

Watch a short segment on YouTube.

02

Retell

Say the idea in your own words.

04

Keep speaking

Answer a follow-up question.

Retrieval

Listen, then retrieve

Watching is recognition. Speaking requires pulling the idea back from memory — without reading a script or copying captions.

Own words

Say it in your own words

You do not memorize caption wording. You express the meaning you heard — in your own phrasing — and the product checks whether you got the idea.

Meaning

Check the meaning.
Keep talking.

Speaking Reflex checks whether you captured the main idea, then asks a grounded follow-up so practice continues as a short conversation.

Listening is not
the same as speaking.

Passive listening builds recognition. Speaking Reflex trains retrieval — saying the idea in your own words right after you hear it, then checking meaning before you continue.

FAQ

Common questions

How practice sessions work, which videos qualify, and what to expect in the private beta.

What is an AI practice session?
One session covers a single practice flow on a video segment: your retell, any retries, and the grounded follow-up conversation. Starting a new practice on another segment uses another session.
Do I need perfect grammar?
No. The goal is to communicate the idea you heard. Feedback focuses on whether you captured the meaning, not on polishing every sentence.
Does it work on every YouTube video?
No. Speaking Reflex works on supported videos where practice can be grounded in English captions for what you are hearing. When that isn’t clear, Practice stays unavailable rather than guessing.
What captions are supported?
English manual captions give the strongest grounding. English auto-generated captions are also supported with lower-confidence grounding, so feedback is more careful about small details that auto-captions may get wrong.
Is Speaking Reflex a pronunciation app?
No. There’s no pronunciation scoring or shadowing. It trains you to retrieve and express meaning after listening.
Why do I need to sign in?
AI practice is tied to your account so your plan and usage stay consistent and fair. Captions for eligible videos are still read in your browser.
What happens when I reach my limit?
Free includes 10 AI practice sessions per 30-day period. When they’re used up, new AI practice waits until your period resets, or you can upgrade to Pro for 100 sessions per 30 days. The extension shows how many sessions you have left.
